Beer and the Economy

Yup, a story about how beer is bringing in money to the United States... so this was sorta fun to come up with... you may need to click on the photo though, as I am unsure of how it will look small... :)

Farmers Market in Lindenhurst

Today I went to a somewhat desolate farmer's market in Lindenhurst and the sky was beautiful this evening, which is always nice for photos... and I wound up liking one that I didn't even know I would (top photo)... so that was nice... and then of course, the obligatory curvaceous peppers down below...

hmm hmm... labor day at the rrbc is pretty soon... and i'm looking forward to lots of kids and babes and friends :)

Carlos and the City

Here's some photos of Carlos and Chicago when I went with him to an UNSO rehearsal. UNSO (Underground Sound), is Carlos's acappella choir that he is music director of in the city. They have a gig at the Six Flags in Gurnee on Saturday, so they got together to practice...

Sand Heaps

Today I photographed a sand castle contest (these two kids in the bottom photo were the only ones who showed up), but I semi-like the photos ok anyhows. It did make me want to participate in making a sand castle though... and I was trying to think of big containers I had at home so that I could make a big one and do that sometime...

When it all comes together

Usually I get pretty bummed/discouraged about how my photos run in our paper, but recently that photo illustration ran, and I was expected a weird crop or it to be real small or for the colors to bleed... but it all turned out fine, which means 'ching' i might have a clip for contest to save. yea.... oh and here's another one that ran ok. :)

Grade School

Wauconda Grade School's students had their first day back to school today... and I enjoyed this assignment, and I think it had largely in part to do with the freedom the principal gave me in photographing the kids.

The Nina, The Rally, and The Float

The first photo up top here is of Owen Baker, a guy who sails around on this replica of one of Christopher Columbus's boats, The Nina (except with a squiggly over the second "a")

These other 2 photos are of a 5K rally spectator walking up a hill with a line of runners in the distance and the other is of a float at a parade.

Candy Machines

I haven't been posting much photos from this week, it feels like... but none of the ones i've taken seem all that great to me...
so here's one i took today, cause i liked the lighting... it's inside the office building i work at... i usually partake of the skittles on the left.

Fire Training Last Week

Forgot one, I took this on... hmm... on.... Saturday, i think... I saw smoke in the distance and thought it was a real fire, until I got close and saw the firemen and people just watching it... later it was confirmed to be a training exercise.

Rachel's Zoo Photos

Here are two photos from the zoo that rachel sent to me yesterday - i like the one of val and lucy a lot.

Football Photo Illustration

This Photo Illustration is for a story based on the split of the school into 2 different schools and how those schools will face eachother this upcoming year in football.

In any case, the illustration concept is by our sports editor here, Dan Patrick - yup
it's 5AM... so i'm sleepy and finally done with this mother scratcher.

25 years old

I think I'll just keep saying it, til it doesn't sound old to me... cause it snuck up and does sound that way...
anyways, hmm hmm... here's a babe photo of me and one from yesterday(my b-day)...

well, on the way into dixon, i stopped at the dekalb oasis and saw one of those photo booths there... that "draw" you a photo... and it seemed like the thing to do.. so that's what that is... though personally, i really really like the booths with the four small sequential photos in a row. what happened to those?

so, i hope this year is good... and i do some things and arrive somewhere that i think a 25-year old chris should be... although, perhaps i should just think that i should be me, here like this... y'know content or something... but my self really feels stirred, like i've fallen behind and to the side of where i wanted to go/or who i wanted to be... so i just can't get too worked up and just breathe in and out, move forward, and so on...

birthdays are sort of funny... and i feel like i don't like them paid much attention too... :) they're almost awkward sometimes... i'm glad mine is over now.

well, this is more "inside chris" than i'm accustomed to writing lately, but there it is... ...

Yellow and Blue and Green

This week it seems I'm attracted to a couple of colors for some reason... I've noticed it in the four shots here I'm putting on this blog... I like colors (the ones I see, I mean). Anyways, the top photo is of a girl playing in a locker at an "open house" school event.

The next is of a high school band in a parade under an overpass.

And some dogs in a pool.

And some squashies at a farmers market...
yup.

Lincoln Park Zoo dee two

Lincoln Park Zoo dee doo

Well, I got to the zoo a lot later than I wanted... but took some photos anyways. I saw some of Rachel's photos on her digital camera and want to put a couple of those on here too, cause I think she had some better ones. Anyways, here are some that I took earlier today before we left for pizza time.

Football Season

well... high school football is starting up and we're sent out to get some shots of practice to show the teams before the actual season starts up...
this is kind of fun for me, because i'm able to get close to the football players and take photos before the I'm confined to the
'a lot of zoom lens" later in the season...
