Possible Drowning

So, the details on this are pretty sketchy... but supposedly a man was seen struggling and then vanished out in Slocum Lake near Island Lake, IL.... but a couple different of villages' authorities were dispatched to the scene... and I'm not sure whether it is a paranoid woman making a phone call or something bad...

Either way, this was the scene earlier tonight... divers, boats and helicopters looking for signs of the person...

Festivals and Such

Ok, so haven't blogged in a bit, but I've been doing the festivals and what-not around here... I like this top right photo because you can see the heavy metal guitar guy reacting to the Lake County Fair Queens being introduce... ha ha...

So the band photos are from a Battle of the Bands at the Lake County Fair... and down below here are some Round Lake Belly Dancers that are preparing to go on stage... then below that a smidge more is a photo of a man sitting in his demolition derby car by a sunset waiting to enter the arena... doo de doo

Rain-water at the Fair

There's a county fair over in this area, and I hadn't taken photos at it yet, but it began to rain pretty hard today in Grayslake. So, with the fairgrounds being in Grayslake, I thought I'd go check out the scene to see if I could get any rain photos of the fair... here are a few shots from the fair, when part of the scene got flooded.

Meg's Part II

Just a couple other photos from Wednesday.

Meg's Daily Grind

Yesterday I was in Rockford at Meg's Daily Grind watching Shawn play in his band, Shawn and the Mikes (with one Mike). Anyways, it was pretty fun, and I found myself thinking I'd like to live somewheres where I could go to a coffeehouse like this and hang out listening to this kind of music... it was good and shawn did good too... he said he was a bit stage frightened, but you couldn't tell...

This woman is Val's grandmother, and the Shawn is with Lucy and Ruby in this photo that features the Tasty Drink...

I sorta like this Fun Slide shot, but I was running low on my 2GB compact flash card, so I missed a few shots...

5K Run and a late night

I also went to a 5k run early this morning in downtown Grayslake. It turned out ok, I got a couple of shots out of it that I did not expect.
Anyways, I suppose that I don't have a whole lot to say on this bloggy blog today... right now it's 1AM and I'm watching the end of Mr. Holland's Opus... I like this movie ok... anyways, it's been pretty hot in Illinois lately, huh? i have doused my shirt in cold water tonight to keep cool for a while... but the temperature has dropped...

Anyways, I guess I'm feeling a bit like i have a part of myself that is missing tonight and wish that it wasn't so...

They are playing the song at the end of Mr. Holland's Opus... which always seems like it should've been better after so long... I think it's the drums and the electric guitar that make it silly...

Well, I am hoping to go to Shawn S.'s band performance day in Rockford on Wednesday...
and take photos and have fun with people i care about... Posted by Picasa

carnival

So, I saw the ride and knew if i got on that it would be better than from the ground... but i didn't really want to get on it... and it was hard to hold onto the camera some, but i like how some of the photos turned out... didn't run very well in the paper thoughPosted by Picasa

Kids on the weekend

These are just some photos of kids from the weekend... I kinda like this posting thing, because the photos run on here the way I crop them... and I think if I try to take photos with this posting in mind, maybe that won't make me feel a bit down because of the way they run in the print.... anyways, so here are some of the kid photos from various assignaments... like a fishing derby, a bug guy, and a basketball camp

Rodeo in Wauconda

Ok, so here are some shots of the rodeo I went to recently. It was pretty fun and turned out better than I thought it would. I guess it just happens that way. I didn't expect it to turn out ok, but i like it. Anyways, this shot on the upper right I might put in my portfolio, cause of that guy holding on.... it really makes the photo or something... anyways, i'm just watchin Godfather II right now and drinkin frappuccino... doodly doo...

Cowboys, or these ones at least seemed to all stare

off like this... they seemed to have a peace or something, like you could tell they live on a piece of land and aren't in a hurry... I want to live somewhere like that... and on land... so that maybe i could go places and stare off like this... i wonder what he is thinking here...

soccer

So yesterday, I went to a soccer game. And it was good, cause I haven't shot soccer in a while, and it was my only assignment of the day...

Also, I got to use my earpiece on my phone while I shot photos... that's the one good thing about sports, is that you just need a roster (usually), and don't have to actually talk to people most of the time...

But talking to them can be pretty fun too... sometimes the initial approach is what scares me off, i think... Posted by Picasa
