Community Development

This is for a story on the development of the communities around Antioch, IL... I took this photo thinking not much of it... but I think I like it more than I thought I would...

....

... anyways, I guess I take photos, but if i like it, it usually feels like it was an accident (funny right?)

Lighting Testing

So... I like lighting, but I know I don't know much about it... I bought some lighting equipment recently and was trying it out... and since my photos this week are kinda crappy, I thought I'd put this in. I'm trying to figure out just some basics... and this kind of lighting I like, I think... it's the broad light on the left, strip of shadow, then backlit highlight on the right thingus... basically, what naturally happened to the photo of jon below with the clouds about him... so that's what i was trying...
yup...
i'd like to try more, but that'll have to be later...

Antioch Antique and Art Show

(Yawn)... i'm sleepy :)
Am at the office at 1AM right now... it happens often, I guess and I need for it not to, now that school started up the other day. It's all about the organizing, which I'm awful at... because it takes time... and I'd rather do something else. Anyways, today I went to an antique and art show in Antioch and they had these birdhouses made from boots, so there ya go. Anyways, I'm goin to go home and piddle around and then go sleepy bye.
I hung out tonight with Rachel's parents, and it was pretty fun... we went to a Spanish church service (which I mostly did not understand), and then Gary bought me some Lemon flavored ice cream, which was tasteeeee... in any case... I'm missing people right now, so I'm just gonna go home and sleep it off or watch a video.

Swing State (a hookah lounge)

Earlier tonight I went to a hookah lounge. (Note: Hookah is a traditional Middle Eastern or South Asian device for smoking which operates by water-filtration and indirect heat. It can be used for smoking many substances, such as tobacco, opium and herbal fruits. In this case, it was either fruit or tobacco.)

It was weird/neat, because it was basically a house that was turned into this place to come and hang out. There were rooms you could go in and smoke and play guitar as well as a band playing on the first floor. Anyways, it was fun because it was something different and all the people were laid back and beatnik-ish.

So I may go again sometime for fun... they serve tea and coffee there too :)
