Civil War Reenactment

I went to this battle reenactment and it was sorta neat... i liked hangin near these guys... they were interesting and i could get up close to them...

in any rate, i'm just trying to catch up on some photos... from this past weekend... i told them today to run this photo on the top here without cropping or don't run it... so we'll see...

little bit of atmosphere of what else went on...
i had wanted to put more photos on here tonight.. but i'm dog tired, and excited for tomorrow to come..

So... I went to this concert tonight....
and I just wanted to be somewhere else...
flying a kite on the beach with my best friend...
or walking at Rock River Bible Camp beneath the stars....





I feel like I'm not going to get times like those anymore... and that's very sad because it was times like those that I felt most connected to friends... and most at peace








I don't think I quite understood how fast everything was going to change.... I think I thought I had more time... but now I am feeling as though I don't know where I fit in... but it certainly didn't feel like I fit in at this concert... and my ears are still ringin a bit from it...

I don't really care about blogs... I'm only doing this because I'm trying to reach out to those of you I can't seem to reach out to well anymore, hoping you'll look at this page once in a while and remember those walks we used to take together and quiet thoughts on where we thought life would go before we actually found ourselves gone....

fireworks with a friend

I went to the fireworks in Libertyville. I wanted my friend to be there... they were so huge and sometimes right above me... i noticed that when they were launched from the canon, the fireworks would move past the tree branches, moving shadows of leaves across the faces of the people below... and there i was, missing my friends... and fireworks five years ago...








The fireworks exploded in the sky and I watched it through my camera lens... but it was so much of an empty thing...

... why can't i sit next to my friends once again... and sit together with them in that acceptance and gentle love....

Chalk Art Contest

Today I went to a Chalk Art Contest... which looked pretty fun to me... I was thinking that I'd rather be drawing with chalk than taking photos of it... but photo-taking was pretty fun too... anyways, my feet are pretty stinky right now... i can smell the socks through the shoes... so i'm going to change them before I head on over to the fireworks tonight in Libertyville (for a photo assignment... )

Fireworks in Grayslake

These were my two assignments for Saturday night
And this is at the Grayslake Aquatic Center... I went to this area to take photos of people waiting for the fireworks, but they were allowing kids to stay in the pool when they started, so I was able to get some kids by this underwater light source at the pool... I was hoping for some kids to turn a bit towards me or to be able to see the face of a kid in the foreground as he/she was getting out of the pool.. but this works ok... i guess.

Car Show in Waukegan

This evening I went to a car show... it was an ok event..
but I thought this kid was interesting... he was sitting in a Marquis... he seemed a bit quiet or something, so I thought I'd take a photo of him and his brother sitting in this car...
Then it was off to fireworks...
